- Inventory Levels are too high
Solution:
- SPC developed a logistics program that included consigned inventory. Each week, the customer uploads the SPC products they've consumed which results in an invoice for those parts.
- SPC provided the computer, bar code scanning equipment and
program training to initiate this project. Invoices are sent electronically. - paperless system has been achieved.
- This procedure is used with over 200 part numbers as part of the consignment program.
Results:
- Customer achieved major inventory reductions for all fastener hardware and has initiated similar programs with other suppliers
