Cold heading can be a solution when you need to reduce part costs. With minimal to no changes to your product design you can convert a screw machine or Forged product into something suitable for Cold Heading. In this example the customer needed to reduce costs to better compete in their industry. We helped with the conversion from Hot Forging and CNC finishing to Cold Heading. Even with bringing the part back from overseas to being produced by Slidematic right in the USA we saved the customer $2.50 per part! With their large volumes this was a savings of $300,000 annually. After successfully converting this part the customer onboarded additional work for similar cost savings per part.
