Our customer had a complex and expensive Pivot Shaft and Pivot Bushing/Nut assembly while also experiencing application issues of the assembly loosening. The solution removed internal threads, removed the need for a Scotch-Grip patch, solved the loosening issue and resulted in a 30% cost reduction equivalent to $400,000 in savings annually. This was not only due to part design improvements but also from converting the part from a Screw Machine to a Cold Headed design.
